About the house
The house is named after the statue in the small house called “Jizo” (地蔵) just beside our lovely small Japanese garden.
We’re conveniently located in Southern Higashiyama (Eastern Kyoto City) – one of the most important sightseeing districts in Kyoto! This spacious two floor house accommodates up to 5 people. The upper level is an open design with tatami mats (traditional Japanese straw mats), hardwood floor, sliding doors, and a great view of the mountains and tile-roof houses. The lower floor has the bathroom with separate toilet and bathing area, kitchen, a Living Room and another tatami room. The house is decorated in the Japanese style. We also use Japanese bedding, collectively called Futon. You will sleep in Futon on the tatami mats, which is the Japanese style. We also have one Room equipped with 2 western style single Beds.

We’re located off of Higashi Oji St. (東大路通), Higashiyama’s main street, at the Imagumano bus stop (今熊野). The house is on the small road called Daigo-michi that goes up the hill. It’s a 7min walk to our office. From the office it’s another 30 sec to the house. The slope is moderate, with the steepest part at the very beginning. However, we do recommend that our guests be in reasonable health and fitness in order to avoid any kind of unpleasant experience.
**From your door to the main street and bus stop is about 6min downhill.
There is a local Kyoto city tax that we must collect in cash upon arrival. It is 200 Yen per person per night. Detailed information will be sent when the reservation is made.
